Google, along with other multinational corporations like Amazon and Apple, has been getting some less than favourable exposure in the media concerning the amount of tax it pays. The big story in the last week has been Google’s settlement with the UK Government in which it agreed to pay £130 million.

Why should you care?
If you’re a Google shareholder this will not be welcome news because it’s evident other countries intend to follow UK’s lead and pressure Google to pay more tax. Questions are already being asked across the ditch in Australia.
